Required Action: Annual Online Update/Enrollment

One of the most important things that Pirate families can do this summer is to complete their Annual Information Update for the 2025-2026 School Year. This update replaces the piles of paperwork that were previously required before school started or during the first week.

The system to complete the update is now open, and we encourage all families to complete the process as soon as possible.

What can you do in the Annual Information Update? Update student data, review policy, request bus transportation, and much more!

Families must complete the Annual Update before LSE and BHS students receive their schedules, and DBE and HCP students receive their teacher assignments. What a great reason to fill it out today!

Please note that the Annual Information Update requires ALL families to provide residency information, even if you have not moved recently. Additional information from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education can be found here.

School Supplies

School Supply Lists for the 2025-2026 school year are available now. Don't forget, all students in grades K-5 are eligible to pick up free supplies at the Kiwanis Back to School Bash on August 10, courtesy of generously donated supplies from community members. See the graphic below for more information.

Boonville High and Boonslick Technical Education Center: Students may bring a backpack with basic supplies (binder with paper, pencils.) BHS and BTEC also appreciate donations of Kleenex for all classrooms. Teachers will discuss supply needs for each class during the first week of school.

If you'd like to do your shopping online, the lists are uploaded to TeacherLists.com for your convenience.

Early Dismissal
In the event of inclement weather that begins after students are at school, Boonville Schools may elect to dismiss students early. If this occurs, the schedule for dismissal at each school is exactly two hours before the usual dismissal time.

Late Start
In the event of extreme cold or road conditions that improve throughout the morning, the district may implement Late Start procedures. If this occurs, Boonville Schools will begin exactly two hours later than the regular start time, and buses will run two hours later than the normal pick-up time (if snow routes are used, these times will vary). Early supervision will not be available. Please bring your student 2 hours after their normal drop-off time.

Bus Transportation Registration Reminder

Want to sign up for busing this year? Here's how:

If your student(s) will need bus transportation for the 2025-26 school year, be sure to complete the school district's annual online registration in Infinite Campus by August 8.

This is the only way we can make sure First Student has the right pickup and drop-off info to plan smooth, efficient routes.

The sooner you register, the better we can serve your family—so don’t wait!

The school district will send an email around August 13 with confirmation of your student's bus ridership and bus number.

NEW BUS TRACKING APP: FirstView 1.0 will replace FirstView Classic this year. Please use these instructions to download the app and log into FirstView 1.0 (if you used FirstView Classic, it is no longer available).

Summer Construction Updates

Boonville Schools are seeing transformation, especially visible at David Barton Elementary (DBE), Laura Speed Elliott Middle School (LSE), and Boonville High School (BHS).

We extend our gratitude to our community patrons for voting for Proposition 3 in 2024, which made these improvements possible.

At DBE and LSE, work is focused on safety and security. Both schools are transforming their main entrance areas, adding secure vestibules and updated storefront systems. Inside DBE, classrooms and hallways are also getting a fresh new look with new lighting, ceilings, flooring, and HVAC upgrades.

At LSE, renovations include repurposing the former teacher lounge into a dedicated School Resource Officer office, along with fresh paint, new casework, and updated finishes throughout.

Over at BHS, Pirate fans can look forward to a big change at Gene Reagan Field. The home side bleachers are being replaced to increase accessibility and seating capacity. The project also addresses drainage and foundational improvements that will help keep the structure solid for years to come.

All projects remain on schedule and will be completed before the first day of school. We can’t wait to welcome students and families back to these updated spaces!

Cell Phone Policy Update for 2025-2026

Beginning with the 2025-26 school year, Missouri Senate Bill 68 requires all public schools to restrict student use of cell phones and other electronic devices throughout the entire school day, including during lunch and passing periods. The law allows exceptions for emergencies, medical needs, and teacher-directed instructional purposes. Families with students who need device access for medical or disability-related reasons should work with building administration to determine appropriate accommodations.

Our building principals will communicate specific implementation details in their back-to-school information. We appreciate your cooperation as we work together to comply with this state legislation, which aims to reduce distractions and improve student focus and well-being.

ParentSquare and New Websites

This year's top method of communication between school and home is ParentSquare (and StudentSquare for high school students). If you haven't logged in yet, you can click here for information and start using ParentSquare.

Free School Meals in 2025-2026

As families budget for the school year, we remind you that Boonville Schools have again qualified for free student meals in all buildings, with the exception of snack bar-type items at BHS or other items for sale.

Kindergarten Enrollment

Do you know a family with a child in the Boonville School District who will turn 5 years old by August 1? We would love to enroll our ENTIRE kindergarten class as soon as possible. Enrolling now will allow families and our teachers to have all of the information they need to get off to a great Pirate Pup start!

If you or someone you know is ready to enroll a kindergartner, please email hcp@bpsk12.net to get started.

Immunization Requirements

The State of Missouri sets and requires an immunization schedule for students in public schools in Missouri. As we prepare for the start of school, we ask that families review the schedule and plan to update immunizations at a check-up or at the Cooper County Public Health Center.
