Mrs. Desiree Jones, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Desiree Jones brings a wealth of experience and passion for education to her role as Assistant Principal. Born and raised in a close-knit family as the only girl between two brothers, Mrs. Jones developed a strong sense of responsibility and care from an early age. Inspired by the profound influence of her kindergarten teacher, she knew early on that she wanted to work with children and make a difference in their lives.
Originally from Fayette, Missouri, Mrs. Jones moved to Boonville in the seventh grade and graduated from Boonville High School. She began her higher education journey at a junior college before transferring to the University of Missouri, where she earned a degree in psychology. Her teaching career started at Kemper Military School, where she taught high school and middle school students for nearly a decade.
In 2001, Mrs. Jones joined the Boonville School District at Laura Speed Elliott Middle School, where she taught until 2014. She then transitioned into her current role as Assistant Principal at Boonville High School. Her decision to become an administrator was encouraged by her principal, who saw her leadership potential and ability to connect with students on a larger scale. Mrs. Jones has embraced the role wholeheartedly and finds immense joy in her work.
One of Mrs. Jones' fondest memories is working alongside colleagues during summer school, where they built strong bonds and created a positive, engaging atmosphere for middle school students. She values the lasting friendships she has formed with staff, faculty, and former students throughout her career. Mrs. Jones is proud to be a member of the Pirate team and remains dedicated to supporting the success of students and the broader school community.
